A brand new beginning
Hi everyone, I’m Shin and I’m new here!
Last February was such a busy month for me. I went to change my visa qualification to work, I had been to Osaka and Kyoto with my friends for a week, I moved from Kanagawa to Tokyo and of course I started as an intern at Kesion! I’ll be graduating from TAMA Art University in March this year. The new life ahead of me seems so exciting and full of challenges, but at the same time I will also be saying goodbye to many of my Chinese friends as they will be returning to China after graduation, so I have been trying to be with them as much as I can. Too many complicated and strong feelings keep coming up, which can sometimes be quite overwhelming. I cannot do anything with them but only feel them with my heart. However, they will become precious memories.
Speaking of memories, for the past 2 years as a master, I’ve been doing some artwork based on the research project called memories presented by the reconstruction of photography. My field of research also includes vernacular photography. I’d like to share some of my work, which combines the skills of both photography and painting. And I have spent a lot of time in the darkroom. If you are interested or have an interest in photography, please let me know and share your feelings or opinions! I’d love to hear from you!

In addition, I’ve recently been preparing for the group exhibition of our seminar’s graduation work. It will be held at BankART KAIKO in Yokohama (near China Town!) from 24 March to 28 March. I would really appreciate it if any of you could come by if you have time. Actually, every exhibition arrangement and installation is a huge challenge and takes a lot of time. This time I’m engaged with the design and promotion part. Here’s our poster and please check out the exhibition information!

Thanks for reading!
See you next time 🙂
