Pearl of the Orient

Jalan Love Lane at Penang

Happy Friday to You dear readers~

We are back for a daily sharing from Kesion Malaysia.
Last week our Creative Team in Malaysia, Akmal had a short trip to Penang. The name, Penang, comes from the modern Malay name Pulau Pinang, which means The Island of the Areca Nut Palm.

As the State of Penang is also referred to as as the Pearl of the Orient and Pulau Pinang Mutiara. If we talk about Penang, Foods, Places its cliche.

Well~
That’s the FUN part in Penang anyway. But honestly you can’t deny the weather over there. It is SUPER DUPER HOT. Well it’s not a short gateway in Malaysia if your not sweaty enough.

Restoran Roti Canai Jalan Argyll Road
This is one of the “Oldest Roti Canai” in Penang. They have been selling since 1955.

Our first stop of the day. Yeah, I know Roti Canai? obviously you can get it anywhere. But in Penang. There’s a BIG Gap in Penang Foods. Why is that? Because most of their foods are full with secret ingredient (rempah) that are cooked with HEIRLOOM RECIPES HANDED DOWN the Generations.

Our Next Stop is~

BEE HWA CAFE
Bee Hwa cafe is a traditional Hainanese Kopitiam in Lebuh Dickens. Looking into trying Penang’s authentic Char Koay Teow yet afraid of the dish containing pork or beef at the usual spot of famous Char Koay Teow? Fret no more because Bee Hwa caters everybody as they’re halal and completely street food worthy.

BEE HWA’s Signatures

The food here is so delicious! It’s just really authentic tasty food. Plus, everyone is so friendly here, ready with smiles. As i mention above, If you’re in Penang and looking for halal Chinese food, this is the place to go.

It’s been fun in Penang for 2 days, and we hope you guys also had fun with the short read for your Friday.

Hope to see you guys soon~

ADIOS our lovely readers.

Sincerely,
AKMAL SALIM
