That’s me, birthday girl!

Hello😃

This is Sung again!

It was my birthday last week!

Our sweet colleagues bought me some delicious cakes as a present; thank you so much😃

In Korea, we eat seaweed soup on our birthdays.

This tradition started from Goryeo dynasty; mothers ate this soup to replenish nutrients, such as iron, etc. after giving birth to their child.

Since then, it became an annual ceremony for Koreans to celebrate birthdays by eating the soup, usually made by their moms, to respect and remember mother’s love and as a meaning of getting a year older.

Same for this year, my mom made seaweed soup for me even though I wasn’t in Korea:)

I ate them with my eyes instead!

Bye~

Sung
