Taste of Spring

Hello Everyone! I hope this finds you well.

It’s getting warmer but the spring breeze feels still lovely pleasant now. And it reminds me of a seasonal vegetable, Spargel, now is the best season for it.

Spargel is the white asparagus. On the European continent, the season of it begins in April in Spain and Italy and continues north to France, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Putting a soft-boiled fried egg on top of boiled asparagus and sprinkle with butter and cheese. Or it also goes as well with the Hollandaise sauce(an emulsion of egg yolk, melted butter, and lemon juice).

In Japan, the Bamboo shoot is in season during the spring. It is common for us to eat rice cooked with it. I like to have clear broth seasoned with soy sauce and salt.

I’m not sure you all have eaten the ramen noodles before, but did you know that one of the toppings is made of seasoned bamboo shoots? Oh probably you couldn’t notice that but actually, that is the one in front of this pic.
