Fusion at its Best
The land sitting right in front of the Tokyo Imperial Palace is one of the most prime and most expensive place to own a property in Tokyo. Being the center of Tokyo, Chiyoda-ward houses Tokyo’s Central Business District, where many large local and foreign firms build their business empires. Financial institutes such as Mitsubishi, Sumitomo and Mizuho all have their headquarters here and you can expect to see many businessmen in this area, especially during weekdays. With Marunouchi being the main area in front of Tokyo Station, there are many tall, modern skyscrapers towering over Tokyo Station.
Marunouchi is also well loved by locals as it is one of the best place you can take in the beauty of Tokyo Station in it’s vintage beauty. Despite being a white collared financial district, you will actually see high fashion brand flagship stores at the lower floors of the buildings. This is really smart because many people working in this area are mostly the upper class society who is able to afford Louis Vuitton, Coach, Gucci etc. These shops are frequented during lunch hours and after work hours by the working crowd and by rich homemakers who may have been shopping in the nearby Ginza/Yurakucho area.
Tokyo Station as some of you may have known, is the biggest train terminal in Japan. Tokyo Station is also the very station other than Shinagawa Station which transports people to other major cities such as Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Sapporo etc. This is one of the fastest and most convenient transportation in Japan which enables businessmen to travel to their destination for a meeting within a short time. Therefore, Tokyo Station is the place to target if you are looking at targeting businessmen . Being a foreigner ourselves, we really love Marunouchi because it has such a great balance of preserving the old and nurturing the new. You see the local traditional big names and foreign names as well in this area. Apart from attracting the working crowd, during the winter months, especially Christmas, Marunouchi holds the annual Illumination event and this attracts a lot of people.
